Collage of Volunteers at Playground

Thanks to our generous donors and partners, the Hume Springs playground at 100 Dale Street in Arlandria is being completely overhauled to provide a fun, safe play space for children under 5.

On September 19, 2015, more than 80 volunteers came out to prepare flowerbeds & plant Virginia perennials and shrubbery to create a butterfly garden.  They built benches to create a relaxing and inviting park.  Others dug holes and planted 15 new trees.  Still more installed a sign, spread mulch and painted graphics on asphalt areas to stimulate creativity & learning.

Stay tuned for more information on the grand re-opening of the park scheduled later this month.
